I felt inspired to volunteer after seeing the efforts of a person who  gives so much time and dedication to making things work, gives so much time to the community and has an unabashed humor that makes you laugh!  It made me want to be involved doing something, or give something of 'me' to the planet before I leave it.  I love to meet people, and play with graphic art.  I try to look at the bigger picture in life to see where I can fit in.  Creating web pages in my regular job (UWS Campus Rec) is one of the things that I enjoy doing so much, that I would do it for free if I could.  NSSR gives me the opportunity to do that!

Favorite Train Song:  I don't have a favorite train song "yet"!  I do have a favorite piece of music, which is the theme music in the movie Robin Hood.

Favorite Train Movie:  I'd have to say Murder on the Orient Express was a good one.  Hey, they have a train at the NSSR that will give you the opportunity to actually be 'involved' in something similar.  Doesn't that sound like a good time!!  I'd have to say though as far as favorite movies go, it's a tie between Robin Hood, and Dances with Wolves  ~vs~ The DaVince Code and The Secret.

Favorite Train Book: "Thomas the Tank Engine"  :)  I am a grandma, and love to read those stories to my grandson!

Favorite Railroad:  NSSR of course!

Favorite train ride:  My favorite train ride of all time was with MY grandma, on the Northwestern Pacific rail (correct me if I'm wrong on the rail name).  I rode from Racine, WI to Oshkosh, WI with her.  We ate in the dining car, and I felt special because I had a sandwich that had decorative toothpicks, and got to drink a "ginger ale" in a glass!  I think I was about nine years old.  Yep, I need to get out more!

Favorite achievements: That would have to be becoming a volunteer for the NSSR, LSRM, and the Depot working on their WebPages, creating graphic art, taking pictures, and having a sense that I have done something helpful for you!

Why does she Volunteer at the NSSR?
It makes my heart feel good to be of service!   It's one of those things in life that can't be achieved unless you are giving of yourself, your time, and your abilities to be helping others.

Why You'll like Volunteering at the NSSR:
You'll be a part of a dedicated team of people who are learning and growing together, painting a beautiful picture of kindness, joy, friendship, and fun!
